Ramada Inn Olive Tree

The car park was the nicest part of the place. We unpacked in our assigned room, then had to move because the door wouldn’t lock. The next room didn’t have enough towels, and the shower had no hot water, not pleasant in winter. The toilet made such a racket when flushed it could pass for an earthquake starting. The beds sounded like their metal springs were from the 1950s every time we turned, and the pillows seemed stuffed with rags from a local op shop. Furniture was filthy, broken, and torn, and we saw a rat running around the car park. It could be a very nice place if the owners renovated it and got rid of the rats. I think it’s the worst place I’ve ever stayed.

I still haven’t received my refund, even after a month. I needed somewhere to stay for a week while work was being done on my house, and my son and his friend were with me because we had things to do in town. The woman at the office was extremely rude from the moment I arrived. I only stayed because of the location. She asked for a $250 cash deposit and said I’d get it back only if there was no damage. The room had thick dust, mold, and dried liquid on the walls, so I took a video in case I was blamed. She said no visitors were allowed, though she let my son and his friend help unload the car. We were about to leave when another friend of my son’s, whom we were meant to pick up, showed up and was going to wait in the car. Within a couple of minutes, she called the room and demanded I come to the desk. I tried to explain, but she said she was kicking me out. She told me to remove my things and said she would inspect the room before returning the deposit. She did give me the deposit and said she had refunded the room, but that was December 15 and I still hadn’t received the $360. Cash App said it couldn’t return the money until the hotel released it. When I called, the same woman answered, was rude, and said she’d refunded me and wouldn’t help further. I had to wait a month for Cash App to drop the charges. I’ve never been somewhere that bans guests and treats you so rudely from the start. Don’t stay here, she’ll steal your money and talk to you like a child.

We left promptly because my family and I felt unsafe. We found rat droppings on the bathroom and kitchen counters, along with the mess from rats tearing apart toiletries left by the hotel staff. Then we caught a bed bug biting one of us on the arm. This place poses a serious health risk, in my view. Management refused to acknowledge the issue or offer any refund or compensation. We got what felt like fake empathy while they refused to refund us. It was a complete waste of money. Avoid this place, especially if you’re not prepared to deal with bed bugs that may come home with you or disease from exposure to rat droppings. There are safer, better options nearby.

A light in our room had no switch, so it stayed on all night. The room was dirty, the door lock was clearly broken, and the beds had bed bugs. It was a horrible hotel, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
