Comfort Suites Near Texas State University

Absolutely horrific. The whole building smelled like mold, and the shower never got hot, or even warm. The room phone was completely dead, and the lamp was broken, with a cracked, crooked shade covered in spotted grime. There was trash between the bed and nightstand. I wish I could’ve canceled, gotten my money back, and gone somewhere else. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.

The second floor was loud and smelled bad, and there was no hot water. When I checked out in the morning, they told me they already knew the hot water was out. Why rent a room under those conditions? I wish negative stars were an option. I don’t recommend staying here.

The lobby was decent, but the rest of the place left me feeling gross. I couldn’t wait to get home and shower after sleeping there. It’s the worst Comfort Suites I’ve stayed in. The photos tell the story, though for some reason I couldn’t upload my own. There was mold and dust throughout the room. I immediately killed two large black crickets on the wall behind the sofa sleeper. The refrigerator was dirty, long black strands of hair were scattered over the floor, bathroom, and curtains, and the drapes were dusty. It was obvious housekeeping hadn’t cleaned the room regularly, if at all. The front desk guy was nice and offered another room, but it wasn’t in much better shape. We looked at it and declined, since we’d already started cleaning the first room. Outside, the vents were cracked and the grass and weeds were overgrown. At best, this is a 1.5-star hotel, and it wasn’t worth $96 a night.

The room door opened to cockroaches, and the whole place smelled of mold and mildew from the moment we walked in. We refused to stay, left the keys, and headed out expecting a refund. They’re still saying my description of the property is disagreeable, but it isn’t. The place looks nothing like the online pictures and is disgusting. I’d rather sleep in my car. It isn’t worth even one star. Find somewhere else.
