Payn House

The Payn House is where I first learned how much I like falling asleep to the ocean. You’re right by the water here, closer than at any other house we’ve rented. It’s a small, cozy place rather than anything fancy, so we sometimes book a bigger house when more of the family comes along. But when it’s just our immediate family, we always come back here. This was the first house we ever rented, on my first trip to the ocean, and it kicked off a tradition. We now rent somewhere on the Oregon coast almost every year. We’ve tried other houses, but this is the only one we’ve returned to.
