The location worked well for hiking at Muir Woods and Mount Tam, and my sister liked the room enough to want to return. We’ve also used this hotel for a skydiving trip in Novato. I’ve been staying here for work for over two years, including through the recent name change, and I’m still happy with it. Paula at the front desk always greets me by name and is ready to help. The rooms are a little dated, but clean and well kept, and I haven’t had noise problems. Renovations are underway, so I’m looking forward to seeing the updates. Breakfast is delicious, the hostess is very nice, and the bar is good for late-night appetizers. There are lots of outdoor activities nearby and a shopping center within walking distance. Every stay can be different, but I’d say give it a chance.

The lobby is lovely and always smells amazing, and the staff were great. I also appreciated the almond milk at the complimentary coffee bar. Our room was somewhat dated, though they’re renovating, so that may change. The AC was a little loud. Having a microwave in the room was a big plus for me.

I travel for work every week, and this is the hotel I keep coming back to. Jose is personable, gets to know the guests, and always gives excellent service. There are other places to eat, but I pick the hotel restaurant because it’s convenient and the service is friendly. See you next week, Jose!

The restaurant and bar are the best part for me. Jose, the bartender, is incredibly attentive and seems to know what I want after just a couple of visits. The atmosphere is cheerful, friendly, and welcoming. I travel as a contractor and this is my preferred hotel when I’m in the Bay Area. The rooms are great too. One of the best places I’ve stayed while traveling.

Staying here while dealing with my mother’s illness and death has been a very hard time, and the staff have made the hotel feel like home. Jose Luis at the restaurant bar remembers my name and asks how I’m doing, and he remembers what I like to order. The food is terrific. Thank you, Jose Luis and Marin Hilltop staff!
