San Simeon Lodge

I travel alone, and it's easy to get in and out. The ocean is right there, with a place across the street to walk and sit by it. With the door open, all I heard was the ocean. I parked in front of my place and walked straight in. It's old but kept clean, and has good vibes from all the history there. For the price, it's great, with other places down the street costing $100 or more compared with less than $100 here. This is my place whenever I'm in the area. It's also the start of one of the most beautiful and fun motorcycle rides in the USA. How can you beat that? I don't know. Across the street is Hearst Castle raised beef with your eggs in the morning at Cavalier.

I was unsure about booking, but went ahead because of the great online reviews. The room itself was fine, spacious, with a comfortable bed and bedding. It's an old hotel, especially obvious from the old faucets and tub in the restroom. They offered zero amenities, but the location was great and the room price was good. For a budget visit to SS, this motel works. Drunk people above us were running around and being loud, so it was hard to sleep or ignore them. Not a good experience.

The bed was lovely, and there was no noise at all. Rooms are big enough for one or two people and a bit outdated, but have everything you need. There's more than enough free parking. The restaurant isn't cheap, especially if you've been farther east, but the food is good and comes quickly. For a one-night stay, this is a good place.

It's a peaceful, quiet place to unwind, while still close enough to visit Hearst Castle, Cambria, and the other sights of California's Central Coast. The property is well-kept, family and kid-friendly, with beautiful natural views. The location is unbeatable, just steps from the ocean, with the sound of the waves and fresh coastal air making it relaxing. Service felt warm, welcoming, and genuine, the kind that makes you feel at home right away. San Simeon Lodge is a lovely mix of comfort, charm, and convenience, whether you're stopping for one night or a weekend getaway. Can't wait to return!
