The room itself was decent, and I didn’t see any bugs, but several basics were missing or didn’t work. There was no phone, which I’ve never run into before, and the WiFi wouldn’t connect even after the front desk guy tried to help. We’d booked a smoking room, but there wasn’t an ashtray. I told the desk, and they said they’d bring one up, but it never arrived. The TV wouldn’t turn on either. I walked down three floors to ask about it, was told to plug it in, then went back up and still couldn’t get it working. It looked like the previous guest hadn’t put the cord back in properly.

Don’t stay here. Our room had cockroaches, no toilet paper, a toilet that wouldn’t flush, and a stained bathtub. Kids upstairs ran back and forth loudly all day. It’s a gritty area, and I think people may be living at the property. Not worth the money.

The bed was great, and I fell asleep right away. I also appreciated being moved to a nonsmoking room after I accidentally booked a smoking one. I didn’t feel unsafe or uncomfortable, though this certainly isn’t a luxury stay. For one night, it was fine. The toilet kept running all night after a flush, the TV picture was blurry, and the curtain didn’t cover the whole window. The hallway also had a definite smell.

I arrived close to midnight and had to find another hotel because I’d just learned my reservation was canceled. Nobody had called or emailed to tell me. Earlier, I’d spoken with PATEL around 6 p.m. and explained that we’d get there at about 10 p.m.; the call was unpleasant. I’d booked to pay on arrival, so I don’t understand why they tried charging my card at 8 p.m. The person on shift said they charge cards when they’re filling up to hold reservations, otherwise they give the rooms away. A quick call could have prevented this whole mess.
