Sleep Inn Sandusky

We paid full price expecting to use the advertised workout room, but when we went down ready to exercise, it was completely unusable. The roof was caving in and there was debris on the treadmill. I don't think it was safe to have the room open to the public. That was the main disappointment. The place itself was peaceful and close to lots of things, and our room was great, with a warm, relaxing bathtub. The pool room and hot tub were amazing.

The room and bathroom were very clean, comfortable, and everything worked as it should. There were plenty of towels and toiletries, and breakfast was great the next morning. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and our family enjoyed the stay. We were in Sandusky for a two-day trip to Cedar Point and chose Sleep Inn Sandusky after seeing some good reviews. We'll be back very soon.

The mattresses were so soft you sank into them, but they had no edge support and you could slide off easily. The hotel has an indoor pool and hot tub, which was nice. There wasn't a bathtub, and breakfast had waffles but no bacon or sausage.

The mattress in our room was dingy and dirty, brown and black along the side, almost like it had been salvaged from a bed bug infestation or something. I took a picture and also photographed the waffle maker. The plates on it were damaged, and every waffle stuck and ripped to shreds. I told the woman at the desk, and she blamed Golden waffles, the supplier, saying they wouldn't repair the machine. I asked why they didn't just buy a new one and keep guests happy if they were going to advertise a hot breakfast. In the morning there were only breakfast sandwiches to heat in a microwave, and the waffle machine didn't work properly. The website advertises hot breakfast, but we couldn't even make a waffle. The rooms are basic and made to look okay, but looking closer we found gross things like that mattress. I wouldn't stay again, and I'll look somewhere else next time. You live and you learn!
