Cedar Point's Hotel Breakers

Being right next to the park makes access easy, and that's about all I liked. The room was tiny and not very clean, with really uncomfortable pillows and a mattress. It had a microwave and mini fridge but no Keurig or coffee maker, which was a deal breaker for me. I had to spend $8 on bad coffee at the in-house Starbucks or go to the in-house Perkins, where breakfast cost me $40. I stay in lots of hotels, and this one didn't impress me. It was also really overpriced. I was on the first floor and had no Verizon internet service. The staff were all 18-20 year olds, and the service and cleaning efforts showed it. I was there on a business trip to bring a large group to the park, not to visit the park myself. I also spent $40 on soup and a California roll at the sushi restaurant, and $13 for a small glass of wine on an evening off. Unimpressed.

The one thing Hotel Breakers has going for it is early entry through the early entry gate, but the next time we visit Cedar Point we'll try somewhere else. For what we paid, I'm sad to leave this review. The place was dirty and badly outdated. Our bathroom had mold, the walls were extremely dirty, and outside there were birds, bugs, dead fish, and droppings everywhere. Customer service was subpar too, with several frustrating interactions that made me even more disappointed. After driving all this way and spending all that money, this was a terrible experience. Save your money and sanity and stay elsewhere.

The best part was how helpful and kind the front desk was. My son accidentally left his hat in the sleeper chair, and when we returned 10 hours later, they sent housekeeping up to look for it. We were impressed. We liked the park and beach views around the hotel, and the pools were nice, though the hot tubs were only warm at most. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurants, but ordered pizza from Mama Chettas in the hotel. It arrived quickly, hot, with the right order and good flavor. Our room was clean and spacious enough. My son liked the sleeper chair, though it wasn't very comfortable, and the mattresses were too hard for us. We stayed one night before heading to Cedar Point the next day. The location is amazing, with close parking, steps to a private park entrance, and an hour of early entry. Those perks made it worthwhile. We also enjoyed the stay for the "ride and refresh" ticket package and would come back. The restaurants looked nice, though we didn't try them.

The room was okay, though the bathroom felt cramped and the beds were springy and really uncomfortable. I'd come back only for the early access to Cedar Point. The location is perfect for the park, and the property has its own lake beach, which is nice if you want a beach day instead.
