The breakfasts Jan makes were a lovely start to each day, and we especially enjoyed sitting with the other guests in the living room after an evening out. There was wine tasting around 5, then sherry or brandy and treats when we got back. Charlie and Jan made us feel at home from the moment we arrived, with coffee, tea, cookies, and helpful tips about Sandwich and the Cape. We first visited the Cape in October 2012 and stayed at four hotels and B&Bs during the trip. The 1750 Inn at Sandwich was easily one of our favorite places. The house was spotless and beautifully decorated, with a warm, relaxed feel and fascinating history. Our second-floor room had a comfortable bed and a pretty garden view. The grounds were lovely, and it was easy to walk around picturesque Sandwich. Charlie also offered to book dinner reservations. We walked to the Belfry one night, which felt very romantic. We can't wait to return.

Jan and Charlie made me feel very welcome, which mattered a lot as a woman traveling alone and staying in a small B&B. My room was lovely, clean, comfortable, and quiet at night. Breakfast was delicious home cooking, and there was plenty of it. The 1750 Inn at Sandwich Center is also convenient for getting onto a main road quickly. I stayed there in fall 2009, and if I visit Cape Cod again, I’ll stay there.

Sandwich and the surrounding landscape are beautiful, and Heritage Museums & Gardens is worth a visit. We only had two days at the B&B, which felt far too short. The house was cozy, and Charlie and Jan were warm and helpful hosts. Charlie had just baked cookies when we arrived, but my partner couldn't eat them because of a nut allergy. About an hour later, he brought us a fresh batch made without nuts, and they were delicious. That evening we had wine from Jan, chocolate, and good conversation with other guests in the living room. Highly recommended for couples.

We only wish we'd booked more than two nights. Jan and Charlie made us feel at home straight away and were a great source of tips for our first Cape trip. Their hospitality was top-notch, and Jan's homemade cookies were wonderful. We stayed in the Hallstead Room last month. The bed was very comfortable, and the large bathroom had a tub and shower. Central air conditioning was a plus. We also had amazing breakfasts out on the patio. The location was good, with plenty to do within walking distance. We'd happily recommend this lovely inn.

The breakfasts were so good we even asked for a recipe. Every meal was a treat. The 1750 Inn at Sandwich Center was a great Cape Cod find for a few days away at the end of a busy season for our business. Jan and Charlie welcomed us like old friends, showed us around, then let us unpack and unwind. They had lots of ideas for restaurants and places to explore, and every restaurant they suggested was spot on. The Sandwich Glass Museum is right across the street and offers an interesting look at local history. Other Cape attractions are a short drive away.
