Sonesta Atlanta Northwest Galleria - Marietta

Stayed 3/7 - 3/8. Check-in was quick and easy, and the hotel was 7 minutes from the venue where I worked. But room 831 had no working AC, and its door latch wouldn't lock. I had to use the top lock and a chair to stop it swinging open. I'm sure there are better rooms, but 831 needs more care.

For work, I stay here about once a year. The rooms have plenty of space and are clean overall, though the hotel has some cosmetic damage. I appreciate having a proper desk and chair in each room. The gym is bigger than most hotel gyms, with a good rack of weights, cable machine, treadmills, stationary bikes, and ellipticals. The location works well too: it's right off the freeway, and there's a Starbucks, good grocery store, gas stations, and a few restaurants within walking distance.

The staff were all friendly, and the location was great. I don't usually eat hotel breakfast, but this one was clean, nicely set up, and pretty good. We had no hot water the morning after we arrived, though. We told the front desk and they sent maintenance, but by evening there was still no hot water and no update. We called again, maintenance came back, and eventually they had to move us to another room. The furniture in the room we moved into looked worn and could probably use replacing. It was a slight inconvenience, but I'd return.

I had a great stay at Sonesta. Everyone was really friendly, especially Samuel, who made sure we got the right room and helped with everything we needed. His guest service was excellent. I'll definitely come back and hope I see the same friendly faces.
