Hampton Inn Sanford

The staff are super friendly, and breakfast is pretty good. Edit: I had to change my review because of a new system that won't let the rooms get colder than 69°. That's just not okay.

It's a dated hotel in a great location, but pretty pricey for the value. My wife works night shifts as a travel nurse and needs to sleep during the day. At check-in, the front desk assured her the hotel was quiet and had lots of guests who sleep during the day. Instead, the front desk woke her to move her car for pictures, then said never mind, and housekeeping woke her at 11 on her last day even though she had late checkout. Some rooms had fridges that barely kept drinks cool, and others had moldy ceilings. We canceled the rooms we had booked for our next stay.

The manager was so accommodating and even checked whether we needed coffee or anything. Our room was roomy, the beds were comfortable and smelled clean, and the breakfast had a good selection. They served bacon every day we were there, which was a big plus since I can't eat the weird eggs and sausage most hotels have. We had a great stay, and the staff were nice.

The room's sheets, pillows, and towels seemed clean, but there were stains on the shower curtain. The hotel needs maintenance and updating. There's just one washer and dryer, and the washer was broken. I considered swimming, but the pool looked cloudy and milky, so I didn't. Breakfast was meant to start at 06:00, but when I came down at 05:55, nothing was out and nobody was setting up. My company booked the place, and I arrived late and tired. If circumstances had been better, I would've asked for a refund and found somewhere else.
