Orange Tree Inn

The room was decent for one night and reasonably priced for Santa Barbara and its location. It didn't look as nice as the pictures, though. The curved shower rod was mounted inward toward the shower, which seemed silly, and the pillows had a weird box shape.

Cheaper than the alternatives, but there were a lot of problems. The bathroom vent next door was really loud, and garbage collection made a huge racket in the morning with no soundproofing. The TV had no remote, the toilet was clogged, and the shower stream was so strong I couldn't stand under it without risking bruises.

The staff were lovely, especially Monika at reception, who suggested places to visit and made our stay more fun. We had comfortable, quiet beds and a lovely balcony with a sitting area. The bathrooms were very clean and well stocked with different shampoos and lotions. The location was nice, near shops and a petrol station, with plenty of parking and a swimming pool. Fantastic hotel.

The location is good, and $150 a night before fees may be the lowest price in SB. Two people at the front desk were helpful and friendly, though one couldn't be bothered. It's about a two-mile walk to the beach. The room is simple, with a narrow desk chair and small built-in desk that worked for getting things done. There were ants, the floor felt gritty and needed better cleaning, and the sheets weren't fitted, so they were a tangled mess by morning. There's very little space for clothes. Not terrible, but there are issues.
