We were in town for our son’s wedding at the nearby courthouse, and the gardens here made a lovely place for wedding pictures. The Simpson Inn is also just a short walk from Alice Keck memorial garden, State Street, and plenty of restaurants. Our room had very comfortable beds, and we appreciated the nice turndown service. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Daily happy hour came with hors d’oeuvres, wine, tea, and lemonade, and breakfast was delicious. It’s a beautiful place to stay, and worth every penny if you want to be thoroughly looked after.

A peaceful, almost private-estate feel, even though downtown Santa Barbara is only minutes away. The Victorian character, leafy gardens, and upkeep make this place a real gem. It put me at ease as soon as I arrived. 10/10.

The food alone has me looking forward to coming back. The hors d’oeuvres, pastries, and breakfast were all so good. Haley and the rest of the staff went out of their way to make our weekend feel special. It was one of the most spectacular hotel stays I’ve had.

I’ve stayed here every year for the past six years, but I won’t be coming back. I booked weeks ahead and arrived today to find construction all over the property. No one warned me about the pneumatic nail gun noise from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day of my stay. A disastrous surprise.

The garden was a sunlit little paradise to wake up to each morning, and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Even the welcome and farewell touches felt special. Staff greeted us by the parking area, made check-in easy, and walked us to our charming cottage. At this 150-year-old Simpson House Inn, the warmth and attention were remarkable. A memorable B&B stay that brings historical charm together with outstanding hospitality.
