Avatar Hotel Santa Clara, Tapestry Collection by Hilton (Formerly Avatar Hotel, A Joie De Vivre)

The separate cardio and weightlifting gyms were a great feature, and one room even has its own entrance to the pool area. The hotel had a relaxing, family-friendly feel, with art and decor that gave it a Bohemian SoCal vibe. Our room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, and the staff were helpful and friendly. We found stores and restaurants close by, and having a Starbucks next door was a definite perk. It worked well for a business trip and a small family vacation, and we'd come back for either.

Ali at the bar was the highlight of our anniversary stay. If he's working, expect to be treated like family. He's funny and attentive, and made the whole experience better. He deserves a raise! We can't wait to return because of his customer service. The front desk staff were kind and helpful, and the AC worked well. One thing to know if you're sharing a room: the sliding bathroom door has a motion-sensor light, which can be a bit bright at night.

We were charged and then told we'd have to pay extra for parking and several other things. Parking on site was $15, and breakfast wasn't included, costing $12-$25. A lost room key costs $50. There were door problems, and broken glass in the parking lot with no insurance or protection for vehicles. The pool was cold and there was no Jacuzzi. Staff were composed and patient, though. The room was clean and modern, with recent updates and fresh paint. There's an outdoor pool, stylish lighting, and a nice gym.

I came from out of town for a 49ers game and needed somewhere near Levis Stadium. It was exactly what we needed, with a walk to the ground of 20 minutes at most. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the onsite parking was $15 per night, though that price wasn't on their website. The bar stayed open late after the game, which was great for a nightcap after the win. I'd stay again for another game.
