Bella Vista Inn

It was reasonably priced, so I guess you get what you pay for, but service and organization weren't good. About half the things in the room were broken, the beds sagged, and the phones didn't work. We tried calling them on our cellphones five times, but nobody answered. I suspect people are living in some of the other rooms. Sound carries through the walls, the ceiling didn't look clean, though the bathroom looked fairly clean.

My significant other and I stayed for a week and had a pretty nice time without many problems. The room was good, nothing fancy, but fine. Housekeeping was really nice and changed the sheets and towels every day. The one downside was the fridge. It didn't work, and when I called the front desk, they said someone would come check it because it was supposed to work. I'm not sure anyone looked at it, but it never worked. It wasn't a big deal for us.

The motel is old and rundown, and most guests seem to live here. That can lead to some interesting encounters with colorful characters. Still, the staff were professional and helpful, the towels were new, the sheets clean, and the pool was lovely. The Wi-Fi kept dropping in and out. Some other reviews mention bugs, but I didn't see or notice any.

I've stayed here before and plan to return. The neighborhood was quiet, there was little outside noise, and a great variety of restaurants was within walking distance. My discounted room was no-frills, which suits me as a no-frills traveler, but it was clean and comfortable, with an immaculate, comfortable bed. The pool was very clean, and the Jacuzzi was deep and warm. The staff on every shift, including management, were friendly and helpful, and the service was very good for a reasonable price. I had no complaints. I know there are many old, very negative posts about Bella Vista Inn, but my experience was just fine. It seems there have been major changes. I recommend the motel and consider Bella Vista Inn my second home in Santa Clara.
