Hyatt Centric Santa Clara Silicon Valley

On weekdays breakfast is a buffet, and I got to try several things, including idly, burritos, and salmon. Weekends switch to à la carte. The staff were helpful and friendly to both me and my dog. I was expecting trouble at check-in after reading the bad reviews, but ended up enjoying my stay. The hotel is among office buildings like Palo Alto Networks, and the area felt very safe. Parking was adequate, though the spaces were a bit tight, more like compact-car spots.

During my 12-night stay, my body wash and shampoo were never replenished. I had housekeeping activated every day, yet the shower supplies weren’t refreshed. One night at 10 p.m., while I was showering and the gel was empty, I called for help and was told to wait because I wasn’t the only guest needing room service. I said the issue should be handled promptly, and it was escalated to the hotel manager, who was heading home. She was rude to me for interrupting her trip back. Staff were inattentive and showed no smiles or greetings. This was a terrible place to stay, and I wouldn’t recommend it for any reason. I have recordings of what happened.

The room was clean and nice, and I liked having a little living room even though I barely used it. Noise was the problem. My room faced the freeway, and the traffic sounded like the window was open the whole time. A loud bathroom fan ran all night, and I could hear the neighbor pulling up their window shade through the thin walls.

Our car was broken into overnight in the hotel’s paid lot, with a window smashed and valuable belongings stolen. Two cars parked next to us were also broken into that night, so it didn’t seem like an isolated incident. When we told the front desk, they said the security cameras didn’t cover that part of the designated hotel parking area, despite the $20-40 nightly fee. The lack of coverage made the place feel unsafe. Breakfast was $30 per person, which seemed far too expensive for the experience. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. It felt both unsafe and overpriced.
