WAFER 450 Hotel

There wasn't a desk, which was my biggest issue. The chair and tiny table weren't enough space for a laptop and mouse, and they need vending machines too. Even so, I'm giving it five stars for the clean room, excellent rate for the area, and one of the best showers I've had despite traveling a lot. The young lady in India who checked me in was sweet and professional. Jenny, my virtual assistant, made check-in easy and was really cute. I had a nice, recently updated King room. The shower and toilet were in a private room; it was a small rain shower, and with the water restrictor removed, the water flow was great. The engineered particle wood flooring looks good, but it's warping a little near the shower from water. Ceramic tile would've lasted better. The sink and mirror are in the main room, presumably to save space, and that worked for me. Internet and satellite TV were trouble-free. I'd recommend it.

For the price, this hotel is very good, and I'd return for business in San Jose. My room had a fresh remodel with a European look, though some floorboards were cracked and lifting a little. Check-in was unusual and not intuitive at first: I had to call from my mobile and wait for the office door to open, then use a kiosk with a remote operator. It took several tries to scan my driver's license, and the clerk's directions were sometimes hard to understand.

The front desk staff were super friendly, and the location worked perfectly for what we needed, with a couple of fast food spots within walking distance. The room was a little worn, but that's understandable in a place that allows pets.

A classic old-school motel, thoroughly renovated and feeling fresh. I stayed two nights. It's a good value in a great location, with good parking and the basics covered: nice TV, internet, shower, bed, reefer, new HVAC, and microwave.
