My family rented a cabin last summer and went straight to the pool. I read all the waterslide instructions for restrictions, then went down and was almost immediately flipped out of the tube by excessive water pressure. I hit the bottom pool, which is at most 3 ft deep, knees first after being turned onto my stomach. The lifeguards didn’t notice until I pulled myself out. Once she saw me, the lifeguard tried to help, and she was very sweet and kind, though not prepared for something like this. The lifeguards let my family bring a golf cart to the gate and tried to help me get to it. At the hospital, I found out my knee was dislocated, not broken. My family had to ask for an incident report. Nobody has contacted us about the incident or followed up. I was out of work for 10 weeks and still haven’t recovered fully. Other guests we talked to said they’d been sore and bruised from the slides too. While I waited for the golf cart, another child kept getting stuck in the middle of the other slide. I don’t recommend using the waterslides unless you’re prepared for medical bills. If I’d landed any other way, I could have broken my neck, legs, or face. Please be extremely careful, and think about whether the risk is worth missed work, a long recovery, and growing bills from being off work and seeing a doctor 2-3 times a week. Taking this seriously would have meant dealing with it 6 months ago, when it happened and we filed the report. I’m so glad my lifelong struggles, including having to accelerate a knee replacement, and financial stress can help you write a new training manual. Be sure to give me knee a shout out during new employee orientation and customer incident procedures.

We were a group of 6 in the cabins, and there was plenty of room. The cabin was cute and cozy, and the employees were all friendly and extremely helpful. We rented a golf cart, which I’d say is an absolute MUST. The amenities were really nice, and the camp store was clean and had everything you could need. The water park wasn’t open, sadly, but it looked very nice and clean. The cabin door was a bit finicky to lock and unlock, and it needed a good sweep when we arrived. Aside from that, everything was perfect. We’ll definitely be back.

I’ve been coming to lake Rudolph for about 10 years, usually with at least 3 people in the fall, and I love it. There’s a lot to do and it’s a fun place. This year the beds were actually comfortable. The wifi still wasn’t great, which is to be expected with camping. Some sheets and the floor were dirty, though. Make sure to bring your own towels. I almost forgot, and I’m glad I didn’t. Other than that, I’d give it 4 out of 5 stars.

This used to be our favorite place, but it has declined dramatically over the past 3 years. We usually visit several times a year, and we’re disappointed enough to find a new go-to. When I booked, I was told all the water facilities would be open until Labor Day. We arrived Saturday and learned that was the only day the water slides would be open. The pool was supposed to open Sunday, but Monday’s hours were only 330-6. It closed at 5 with 50+ people in it. We won’t keep paying for amenities that aren’t available. I understand it’s the “off” season, but this was a weekend in August. After the heat let up, the kids wanted to play golf at 6:50 pm, but couldn’t because it closed at 7. I’m glad to finally see new pool chairs, though. We came back for Haloween weekends too, only to learn you can’t throw candy from the golf cart parade. That was always my youngest’s favorite part. So many changes. It’s sad.

We’ve stayed here twice this summer, and this was our last visit. This campground didn’t feel family friendly at all. On our first trip, we rented a cabin that wasn’t the nicest but was clean. A teenager tried to break into the cabin where our children were sleeping. We scared him off, and an employee came to check on us. Later we figured it was probably a stupid prank by some young kids and brushed it off. This time we tent camped for the weekend with our 7 year old, which was a big mistake. The site was nice, but after sunset groups of people, including underage kids, drove around in golf carts blasting music, screaming, and setting off fireworks for much of the night. I’m not exaggerating when I say there were at least 15 carts full of people doing this. One group kept it up until after 1am. My wife and I called the office several times to try to stop it. Each time, they said they’d send someone to drive around. The only thing we saw was a “ranger” conveniently pass our tent right after a group had gone by screaming and blasting music. The office said they were understaffed, with just one person driving around to keep control, and acknowledged that other campers had complained too. When we confronted the groups and asked them not to drive through our area, they got louder, passed more often, and shot fireworks toward us. We called the police at 1 am, but only got voicemail. The noise stopped only because it got so late. Meanwhile, the bathrooms were covered in vomit and diarrhea, apparently because so many people were intoxicated. A sign says the bathrooms are cleaned between 5am and 6am, and that seemed to be the only time they got cleaned. This was the worst camping trip I’ve had, and it was our child’s first camping experience, which is upsetting. The campground advertises itself as family friendly, but that was completely opposite to what we experienced.
