Pacific Blue Inn

This is a small, nine-room boutique hotel in a great spot for exploring downtown and the boardwalk. We walked to the Bagelry and Zachary's for breakfast, and we'd definitely return and recommend it to family and friends. Our second-story room was lovely, and we didn't hear any noise, though November may have been a quiet time. The morning coffee was great. I didn't try the pumpkin bread, but it looked tempting. Off-street parking was provided nearby.

The location was convenient, with easy access to main streets and a walk to the beach. The restaurant across the street was really good and had great prices. Around midnight we woke to loud sounds from the bathroom, then a strong foul smell. The sink had backed up with FECES from the pipes, nearly spilling onto our toiletries and makeup. My husband sent photos to the hotel. The bathroom was unusable and unsanitary, and the smell reached the main room too. The front desk wasn't staffed overnight. After calling, we finally switched rooms around 1:00 a.m. with our toddler. Later, I asked for a partial refund and was dismissed, then got no response to follow-up emails or calls. Staff and management need training in basic customer service.

The area has a real downtown feel, and I felt safe in my room. Outside, just be careful like you would in any city. There were a couple of things about the Inn that were really nice. I'd definitely come back.

Comfortable beds and a pretty good location made this a solid hotel. There wasn't a fridge in our room, but we could use the one in the main kitchen. The downside was how easily outside sounds came through. Our neighbor checked out at 5am, and the morning trash trucks were loud.
