Pacific Inn Santa Cruz

The managers kicked me out after I'd spent a lot of money there, accusing me of smoking marijuana in my room. They also accused my friend of stealing sheets, even though I'd brought my own for my dog. They said I left one behind and made a big mess, which is a complete lie. I cleaned everything, from the floor to the refrigerator. I think they don't like American women. I kept asking for a weekly discount and was refused, but two guy friends of mine got one. Shortly afterward, they kicked my friend and her son out onto the street, too. I don't think it's the owner, but the managers, so be careful. There are lots of homeless people around there as well. It could be a nice place, but it needs new management.

The bed was comfy and the location was great. The updates look modern, though some details make it seem like they paid for very cheap labor. Our floors were sticky, the air conditioner didn't work, and we could hear street traffic and other guests talking outside. For the price, we expected more.

The receptionist was professional and gave us lots of useful information. Our room was nice and clean, and the price was great. The hotel is pet-friendly and has a nice pool in the middle. It's a couple of blocks from the boardwalk and restaurants. I stayed a couple of nights and had a good time.

The outside looks nice, but staying here was awful. The elevator was broken, the AC wouldn't blow cool air, and we couldn't change its temperature. We propped the door open with hangers all day just to keep the room habitable. The bed swallowed you up, the sheets were itchy, and the faucet was so loud it made a huge mess because the water wouldn't go into the sink. The room lights were a joke, too. The coffee machine didn't work, and nobody was at the front desk in the morning, so the coffee there was pointless. Then there was drilling at 10:30 pm. Never again.
