Rio Vista Suites

We had a great weekend getaway and would happily stay again. The hotel is cute, the room was beautiful and comfortable, and the area felt quiet despite being so close to the boardwalk. They included a nice variety of drinks in the foyer. The staff welcomed us, held our luggage until check-in, and took time to make sure we knew how to use the secure entry system.

The staff were very nice, and the place was very clean. Its location near the boardwalk is convenient. For five nights in room 9, a third-floor economy queen, the price was above average. Calling it a “luxury suite” is misleading: it wasn't luxurious, the lobby coffee was from a Keurig, and there was no breakfast.

Suite 1 was cute and roomy, and felt more like being in a home than a hotel. I enjoyed reading by the gas fireplace. The bathroom has an all-tiled shower that would be easy for people who need that. There’s no central air, just a small window AC, and a small floor heater in the bathroom if needed. It's a beautiful place that must have been an amazing home. They don't build houses like that anymore. I booked the attic on the website but we ended up in suite 1. My S.O. had hoped the place was haunted, but it wasn't, and it never felt scary. The black cat who lives there is adorable, friendly, and lounges around the property. He slept in the front entrance area. I'd like to visit again, probably on my own. My S.O. is a light sleeper and said it was noisy, and that the neighborhood lights outside were too bright. There’s no pool, breakfast, room service, or restaurant inside. It's literally a house.

The room was quiet, cozy, and lovely, with a comfortable bed. Lily kindly found us a place for the night and upgraded our room at no charge when she heard we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. We’ll definitely stay here again.
