Motel 6 Santa Fe, NM

We were exhausted and looking for a room late at night, but the man working refused to serve us. He seemed offended by my friend's chest, and there was no clear reason to turn us away. I'd never had an issue with this hotel before this man was hired. It felt discriminatory, whatever he wants to identify as.

We stayed for a week and met some cool people at this nice little motel on the strip. Motel 6 allows dogs without an extra charge, which is a big plus after seeing the outrageous pet fees at other places around Santa Fe. There are security cameras all over, so it feels safe, and the staff are polite, attentive, and do a great job. I don't agree with some of the other reviews. I'd definitely stay here again.

I paid $178 this time, compared with $150 for the same length of stay before, when the Wi-Fi, heat, and TV all worked. The room wasn't properly clean on arrival. The beds were made, but nobody had swept the floor. Wi-Fi doesn't reach this room at the end of the building, so I've been using my own data, and the heater barely warms the room. It seems to run on a timer, and the room stays cold. I also got locked out. Staff assumed I wasn't staying there instead of helping straight away, and when they eventually let me back in, they had to cut the latch. This stay really wasn't worth what I paid.

We slept well and it was quiet. The beds were clean and comfortable, and the front desk guy was friendly. The floors in our room were really dirty, and there were some odd characters around the hotel.
