Shore Hotel

Jon Farzam and his family clearly take thoughtful care of this beautiful, well-maintained property. Inessa, the general manager, sets a warm tone, and the whole staff are kind and professional. They remember you, which really makes a difference. Jael checked me in and was helpful, accommodating, and very nice. Rafael at the restaurant was attentive and friendly, making each visit feel personal. The place has a great atmosphere and location, and the service is consistently strong. Easily one of the best places to stay in Los Angeles. Highly recommend it.

We spent five nights here in October with my partner and sister, and had the best time. Our room was in the quiet, peaceful garden area at the back. It didn't come with a fridge or microwave at first, but both were easy to request and arrived quickly. The staff were accommodating and friendly, and dealt with requests promptly. We felt valued throughout. The hotel is beautiful, right across from Santa Monica Pier, with restaurants and entertainment in walking distance. We went without a car and got around on foot just fine. Bike rentals through the hotel were much cheaper than other local options, and I highly recommend riding the beach path. Parking costs extra, as it does at most places nearby, but the rates are clearly explained on the website when booking. Beach towels are available on request, and pool towels are kept stocked by the lovely heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi. My first trip to California was amazing, and Shore hotel was a big part of it. I can't wait to come back to Santa Monica.

Our room was quiet and comfortable, and having a balcony meant we could eat breakfast facing the ocean. The hotel has modern decor and good service, with an excellent central spot near the beach, pier, restaurants, and 3rd St. Promenade. The garage can be hard to find a space in if you're driving. They provide gym passes, but the gym is a seven-minute walk away, and depending on your room type it isn't included, so it costs $11 per visit. For a four-star hotel, I feel that should be included.

I loved the room and location after they moved us to a different room. It's a beautiful area with great views, and the room was comfortable, clean, and so soundproof that pool noise didn't come through at all. The service could be confusing at times. Staff sometimes seemed unsure of the process or assumed guests already knew how full-service hotels work. A short welcome guide would help, though they were kind and accommodating when we asked. Breakfast is a little expensive, so McDonald’s or Subway are only a two-minute walk away. The hotel's food looked fresh and delicious, and the complimentary champagne and cider were a nice touch. One glass was enough for me. A bit more fridge space and a towel hook by the shower would be useful. The bathtub is quite high and could be tricky to get in and out of for some guests. I'm not used to full-service hotels, and this felt luxurious and was well worth it.
