Comfort Inn Santa Rosa on Route 66

There was easy parking, it was quiet, and the staff were friendly. The continental breakfast was good, and the spot near the highway was convenient. The place was clean-ish, though it could use some TLC. Some equipment is failing: the hot tub didn't work and the exercise equipment was broken. There's not much nearby besides fast food. I paid $115.

I slept really well on the firm bed, and even my very particular husband did too. The room was spacious, the shower had plenty of room thanks to the curved rod, and the water was hot. The towels were large. Ventilation wasn't great, but there was no mold or other unpleasantness. The pool area looked big, clean, and secure, though we arrived too late to use the amenities. The main reason for my four stars is that there's no elevator. If stairs aren't an issue for you, you may have a good stay. This is a large complex, so check the room location, entrance, and parking in advance, especially if you're bringing a large vehicle or trailer. Kyler handled check-in quickly, despite an AI overview saying it was slow. A few things could've been better: some curtains were pretty stained, our window was open when we arrived, and my husband stepped on something sharp on the floor. Still, the comfortable bed and good sleep made this a solid four-star stay for the price.

I needed parking for my U-Haul trailer, and the bright, well-lit lot gave me a safe place to leave it. The rooms were updated and clean, and the staff and overall quality impressed me. I also liked the little touches: doors that opened with one touch from outside, and a night light that made the stay especially comfortable. Thanks to the hotel's owners. We stayed here twice in one week, and the staff were pleasant and helpful both times. On the first visit, the toilet clogged within half an hour, but they moved us promptly across the hall. That room had a door that rubbed badly against the frame, made a terrible noise, and had to be pulled shut. From outside, I had to shoulder it open. A loose piece of molding also fell off below the fridge. The second room had a slow-draining sink, and the shower door let water out. The floors were filthy. Shoes made sticky sounds in all the rooms, and after walking barefoot for 15 minutes post-shower, my feet were black. My wife's socks were black on the soles too. The comforter was stained, and some towels weren't clean. We were in pet-friendly rooms with vinyl floors, but the mopping clearly wasn't going well. Housekeeping and maintenance seem to need an upgrade. I attached a photo of the cloth I used to wipe my feet.
