Extended Stay America Suites Santa Rosa North

I travel full time for work, and this is a place I actually look forward to returning to after flying home to the East Coast for a week every few months. The rooms are very clean when you walk in, and the staff are always friendly. The laundry room is handy too, since you can pay with either coins or a credit card.

There was running water, electricity, and a heater, though the heater was extremely loud. That was about the extent of the positives. We left for the airport much earlier than necessary because I just needed to get out of there. We’d booked for one night because the hotel sits between downtown Santa Rosa and the airport, and we had a morning flight. I’ve stayed in budget motels before and been fine, but even with low expectations, this was disappointing. The room smelled musty. There were no toiletries or hair dryer, so bring your own toiletries, and the phone rang five times when I called the front desk before it kept sending me to the ESA corporate reservations line. At 8:45 in the morning, they were out of coffee. When we asked for even a paper plate to heat leftovers in the microwave, they said they didn’t have any. Opening the microwave showed it was covered in dried food anyway.

We stayed here a couple of years ago and it wasn’t so bad then. This time, some employees weren’t very friendly, and the place was full of construction workers who were often loud and sometimes argued loudly. For the price, the rooms were also kind of noisy, with squeaky floors and noisy plumbing. Too bad.

We’ve been here for two months and are very satisfied. The staff have been consistently courteous and attentive, and the property is always clean and well maintained. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a longer stay.
