Hotel Blue 66, BW Signature Collection

For a quick, inexpensive stop while traveling 40/66, this place worked. The workers were extremely friendly, and the location is right off the expressway with a diner next door. The rooms have a cool retro-modern look, and lights under the bed come on if the motion sensor detects you getting up at night. Breakfast is included and was the usual continental kind. The sheets were clean and the bed comfortable, but the room wasn’t spotless. The bathroom smelled odd, not dirty exactly, just unpleasant. The toilet ran all night, and its loose seat wouldn’t tighten. Water pressure was good and the water got hot. It’s what I’d expect from a two-star place, and I’d stay again.

Our car broke down as we were reaching Santa Rosa, and we managed to limp over to the mechanic next door. We didn’t have many options, so I was grateful that the woman at the front desk was kind and understanding enough to let us check in early. We stayed for three nights and enjoyed watching the college football playoff quarterfinals. The room had a large TV, a mini fridge, a pretty good bathroom, and very comfortable beds. I also liked the modern design with a vintage look. The cleaning lady was nice too.

The place is cute, but I found four fleas on the bed in the pet-friendly room. The white bedding made them easy to spot, and I ended up washing my dog three times. I travel a lot with my dog, and this happens once in a while. This was one of those hotels. I also found ants all over the shower floor. For the price, it wasn’t worth it. I’ve stayed right across the street for less than half as much at Motel 6. The room was small, but there were no fleas. When you pay more, you expect a little more. You can’t win them all.

There was road noise, dirty flooring, hair in the shower, and the shampoo and conditioner were empty. The sheets smelled, and I found someone else’s dirty sock between them. Bugs were crawling everywhere, including on an unknown substance on the entry bench. The room was filthy. They offered no refund, credit, or apology. I’d say don’t stay here unless you’re desperate.
