Hyatt Regency Sonoma Wine Country

Leila at the front desk made our stay so much better. She’s incredibly kind, and I loved talking with her every morning. I can’t say enough about her service or personality. Most of the other employees were wonderful too, going out of their way to welcome us or ask how our day was going. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

I’d always chosen this clean, beautiful property for our Santa Rosa stays, girl trips, and shopping weekends. But after surgery, we stayed in room 103, and that night has me thinking I’ll look elsewhere next time. The yelling and loud laughter went on for hours. It finally stopped around 1 a.m., just as we were picking up the phone to complain. I couldn’t believe the staff let it carry on that long. I enjoy having fun too, but yelling and making that much noise in a hotel is rude. If the guests were drunk, staff should have asked them to quiet down. The staff who were out there didn’t seem to consider that other guests needed sleep. I’d be shocked if we were the only ones bothered.

Every person we encountered was warm and friendly, from the people serving us to the gentleman holding the door and everyone we spoke with in person or on the phone. That’s what made me want to write this review. We had a really lovely stay at Hyatt Regency l, Sonoma Wine Country location, and I can’t wait to return. The whole property felt welcoming, from the lounge and reception with its fireplace and chilled infused water to the valet lot, just about 30 feet from the door. I attended a great party for my brother’s birthday, and every detail was right. The food was delicious, and my room was spacious, understated, and beautifully appointed. The bed was perfect, and the toiletries were rich and great quality. I recommend it 1000%! You just don’t get this kind of service everywhere.

The grounds are beautiful and the location is convenient. Jowie from maintenance was responsive, kind, and helpful. David and Dominic from concierge were the best part of our stay, always kind and going above and beyond, including helping us with our luggage to the vehicle. One overnight staff member was nice too. The rest of the front desk staff were abysmal. They acted put out when we asked for help and never apologized or offered anything to make up for the miserable experience. On our first morning, we found worms all over the carpet in our courtyard-facing room, near the bed and refrigerator, and under our luggage. It was an infestation, not one or two worms. My husband called the front desk for another room, and again they acted as if we were inconveniencing them. Dominic came quickly and was a rockstar. At check-in, the front desk person had already made us feel like doing her job was a burden. The phone in the new room didn’t work. That became a problem the next morning when we ordered DoorDash and couldn’t call the front desk to ask about it. We called from my cell and were told DoorDash wasn’t allowed to deliver to rooms, with no explanation for how it had been delivered to our room the day before. The desk had accepted the order and hadn’t told us it arrived. When we asked if the helpful concierge could bring it up, the answer was no, we had to collect it ourselves. My husband also had trouble with the elevator on the way back. We ate in a hurry and checked out. David had helped us when we arrived, and he helped with our luggage again. This was our second stay, but we won’t return, and the awful service has us questioning whether we’ll stay at a Hyatt again.
