America's Best Value Inn Santee

For the price, it was hard to expect much more, but I’d probably pay another $20-30 next time for somewhere nicer. The room and the parking lot perimeter were dirty, and the area by the liquor store and vape and cigarette shop felt sketchy to me. A man smoking a cigar was walking around outside the rooms, and the smell carried over. Check-in staff looked exhausted. I wondered if the place was family-run and they were just trying to make it work. I skipped breakfast because it didn’t appeal to me. I also doubt the claims that it’s quiet, though that’s just my impression. Good luck.

I don't usually post reviews, but the negative comments seemed to miss that there are good things here too. Our room was comfortable, clean, and nice, and breakfast had what I’d expect at hotels that cost more. The Santee Red Roof Inn was an exceptional value for me, and I’d recommend it. Some signage pointing to the office would help.

At the Santee location, the room was clean and comfortable, and I found Red Roof a good value, especially with a pet along. The location right off 95 was perfect. I’ve learned to inspect a room before bringing my things in at Red Roofs, since they’re often not cleaned properly, but that wasn’t an issue here.

The bed was comfortable, and for the price it wasn’t too bad, especially since pets stay free. The room looked mostly clean, but the dirty-looking top blanket cover and moldy food left in the microwave from a previous guest were unpleasant. The sink and bathtub also wouldn’t drain properly.
