Greystone Inn

I adore this place. I came at the last minute with just my small dog, and they upgraded me at no extra charge to a gorgeous corner room overlooking the lake. They even gave Hugo his own bed and a dog walker. My room had a beautiful fireplace, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent. The delicious hot apple cider came complementary. I wish more places were like this. Highly recommend, and thanks to this special place.

The setting and service made this a wedding weekend we’ll treasure. We hosted our daughter’s wedding at The Greystone Inn nearly a year ago, with almost 100 guests staying for the whole weekend. From the welcome party through the wedding day and Sunday brunch, every detail went flawlessly. The staff were warm, thoughtful, and attentive. It was truly magical, and we can’t wait to return to this special place.

The grounds were beautifully maintained, and the staff were excellent and attentive. Our two-night “minimoon” after the wedding was in a beautiful, quiet area, just what we wanted. We were welcomed with champagne and checked into the lakeside Cochran Suite. It was spacious with a wonderful lake view; everything else was lovely and fairly clean, but the carpets were dirty and clearly worn. We passed the time with Connect Four and chess in the main house, where guests shared some board games. Breakfast and dinner at the Greystone restaurant were nice, though expensive. The food was good, but at that price we expected better quality. We also thought the stay would include more amenities. We’ve had lawn games or a snack happy hour at less expensive bed and breakfasts and inns. The room was pretty nice, but we probably wouldn’t spend this much on another trip like it, since most of the cost was just for staying at the Greystone.

We celebrated my birthday at The Greystone Inn, and I couldn’t have asked for a better trip. The lake was surprisingly warm when we jumped in during mid September, and Lake Toxaway made a stunning backdrop. The grounds were immaculate, the restaurant fantastic, and our room was beautifully done. Turn-down service was wonderful, and everyone was so friendly. The inn felt incredibly cozy, and looking back at all the photos still blows my mind. I can’t wait to come back.
