The place needs work. Roaches, wifi that wouldn’t connect, and cold air coming straight through gaps at the door where you can see through the weather strip and baseboard. It’s pet friendly, but the price felt a bit high for this level of service.

The price was great, and I got a nice, clean room with a light breakfast.

My first two day stay was pleasant, and the customer service was top-notch. When I came back for seven days, the room wasn’t as nice and the service had slipped too. The bathroom was clean, but there were cigarette marks all over even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. It smelled of smoke when I arrived, so I assume earlier guests had smoked there. There were also cockroaches, so watch out. They could do better with the service. Three stars overall.

The bed was clean and comfortable, the linens were adequate, parking was easy, and getting to the expressway was convenient. The front desk attendant was personable and helpful. But the room I was given as non-smoking smelled so bad I couldn’t stay in it. Luckily there’d been a cancellation, and he found me another. The smell there was okay, though the shower was weak and took a long time to heat up. The sink faucet was loose but worked. I could see debris by the table and between the bed and side table, so the carpet hadn’t been vacuumed. The TV reception wasn’t great, though I arrived late and left early, so that didn’t matter much. I got a shock whenever I touched the heating unit, and its thermostat controls didn’t work very well.

The front desk staff were nice when I arrived, and the room had a good layout. Still, it was the worst of the three motels I booked on my cross-country trip. The mattress had a deep dip on the left and needs replacing. The room smelled musty, and there was mold in the shower curtain folds. The towels were stained, with a human hair on one, and I found another hair under the pillow. I don’t think the bed had been changed. The sheets were itchy and threadbare. I was too tired and pressed for time to complain. I’d forgotten my shampoo, but the staff said the motel had none. I paid more here than at an older motel in Amarillo that was amazingly well kept for its age. You could see the pride in ownership there, while at the Motel 6 I saw very little. I wasn’t pleased with this stay.
