Sir F.
I was in town for Pax Unplugged and mostly needed somewhere to sleep for a night or two. It was cheap, which is about what you get. The bed was rock hard, much of the room's furniture was broken, and the desk person was reluctant to give me extra towels or toilet paper. Maybe workable on a tight budget for a very short stay, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I had nowhere to go, and the workers here were kind and helpful. This is my second time staying, and it always smells good and feels clean. I feel safe here with my child, and I really like the place. It's not expensive, and I'd recommend a stay. Thank you, Philly Inn. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

The check-in was alarming: the woman at the desk didn't know which rooms were available and gave us keys to rooms that already had people in them. I put a chair in front of our door so no one could walk in on us. I would never pick this hotel again or recommend it to anyone. The place felt badly outdated. Water was leaking from the ceiling into mop buckets in the lobby, the room was dated too, and the bathroom was very dirty with a leaking tub. The blinds were broken and the carpet filthy. My stay was terrible.

The location was nice, near the center, and there was plenty of parking. The price still felt far too high for what we got, and I can't recommend staying here. The hotel was very dirty. The toilet wouldn't flush, and there was no toilet paper or soap or shampoo. When we asked the front desk, the person was rude and stayed on the phone for 20 minutes before helping us. They said there wasn't any toilet paper and housekeeping would bring it later. It didn't arrive until 10 AM on checkout day. The heater and AC had only an on/off switch, no temperature setting. Even switched on, the unit just made noise and didn't heat or cool the room.

DO NOT STAY HERE. The reviews are 100% accurate, and I know because I saw four rooms. I'm sitting on my bed now with a runny nose, wearing three pairs of socks, sweat pants, and jeans. It's 10 degrees outside, the heater doesn't work, and I'm out of energy to complain again. Room 4 was the best of them, which isn't saying much. I found one cobweb, and the blinds had splashes of dried dark brown fluid I couldn't identify. The smoke detector was wrapped in a plastic bag, hopefully left by a previous guest, and the whole place reeks of MJ. The heater was broken again. Room 3 isn't worth describing beyond the half-made beds and obvious dirt from the previous guest. Room 2 looked better at first, with fewer cobwebs and a newer TV. Then I found huge dark red stains on one bed's sheets, and wondered again if it was blood or wine. At least the second bed looked okay, and the heat worked, so after pouring myself a drink and hoping no bed bugs were hiding, I finally got warm. But I was interviewing nearby the next day and wanted to look presentable, so I checked the shower. One handle didn't work, and of course it was the hot water. I asked for a third room rather than face a cold shower, and they apologized and moved me. Room 1 was disgusting. Cobwebs hung from the ceiling, and cold air came from a squealing heater that wasn't doing its job. There was literally ice along the inside of the glass. The mattress had a dark red stain, maybe blood, bed bug excrement, or wine from a previous guest. I put up with it because the rate was manageable and I'm not a baby. Then at 8:00 I found the TV didn't work, so I missed America's Got Talent and Susan Boyle. The remote was gone and buttons had been pulled off the early-2000s CRT TV. That was the final straw, so I asked to switch rooms.
