Quality Inn Sarasota

Mariam at the front desk is a big part of why I keep coming back. She’s consistently kind, welcoming, and helpful, and I always enjoy seeing her handle check-in, even though there’s also a kiosk for speaking with someone live. The rooms are spacious, clean, and average overall, with decent beds. Housekeeping is friendly and does a great job. Breakfast each morning is pretty good, and the spot right off I-75 is convenient. I’ve stayed here several times and am already looking forward to my next trip.

Breakfast was much better than I expected, well beyond a basic continental, and the price was good with it included. The woman working in the breakfast area was really nice and kept everything clean. I’m here for tomorrow’s “Wreaths Across America” event at Sarasota National Cemetery, and this is my second stay. The rooms were stylish and very clean, the bed was comfortable, and they even left extra linens. Front desk staff were excellent both times. If I can make it back for the event next year, I’ll stay here again.

Blanca, who takes care of breakfast, was the sweetest. Leave her a few dollars if you can. Breakfast itself was good but basic, and seating was tight. We had to stand at first, though the room cleared out after about 10 minutes and we found seats. We only needed an easy, inexpensive place for one night, and this was clean, cool, and friendly. It’s not upscale, but everything seemed to work and we couldn’t have been much happier. A live person checked us in, while an Indian guy on a monitor helped other guests. After he finished with them, it felt like he was awkwardly watching me check in. Maybe he was a remote manager? We’d definitely come back.

The rooms smelled moldy, and there was mold on the A/C in my son’s room. The units were so loud I couldn’t sleep, with a strange clicking noise and a sound like a Category 5 hurricane outside. My son was in a different room, and his was just as disgusting as mine. The place looked like they’d painted over old grime. Calling the “front desk” connected me to someone in a foreign country, and checkout was through an iPad with someone there again. As I left, a line of people was waiting to complain. I called and demanded a refund, but got the runaround. They returned $40, and I also saw several pending extra charges that were later reversed.
