Bluebird Spa City Motor Lodge

We loved it and will be back. The staff were unbelievably nice, from the front desk to housekeeping, and the room was clean and warm, with a cozy bed, mini fridge, and great TV. The bathroom was huge and had nice hot water, though the pressure won’t blast salt off your car in winter. The lobby is great, with coffee, water, and skylights, and the quiet-hours sign was appreciated since sound carries well here. We were on the first floor right by the lobby couches, so opening the door felt like we could high-five strangers sitting there. That’s a us issue, but next time we’ll ask for an end room or the second floor. There’s a very small lot, but a free garage for OCD vehicle owners like me just behind the hotel.

We found plenty to do along Broadway, with its boutiques, cafes, eateries, and art shops, but didn’t have nearly enough time and will return. We were in town overnight to see a favorite musician at Caffe Lena, just a block from Bluebird Spa City Motor Lodge, and also got to the Military Museum a couple of blocks away. Our room had everything we needed, with comfortable bed and pillows, a hot shower with plenty of water, and working heat and air. It was clean and spacious. Parking is first come, first served, though apparently the garage behind the hotel has free spaces on floors above ground level. The clean coffee bar and lounge were easy to use. We also saw a couple of well-behaved dogs with guests, so it seems pet friendly, which is a plus for us next time. Thanks for making our first Saratoga Springs visit easy and comfortable!

The beds were super comfortable, the staff friendly, and it’s an easy walk to downtown shops and restaurants after leaving your car in the lot. This chic, retro, hipster renovation of an old motor lodge is nicely done, with an interior atrium that opens up the lobby and a big TV. It’s a great convenient, affordable place to sleep. I’m parsimonious, which is why I’m at four stars. The rooms aren’t palatial, though they’re plenty big if you’ve traveled in Europe. Families with kids or anyone with mobility issues could find them challenging. Kids may also prefer a place with an actual pool. If you have mobility needs, ask for the first floor, since the lift to the second floor may not be very convenient. Our room had a mini fridge but no microwave, if that matters to you.

The whole motor lodge has been reinvented with a lovely mix of nostalgic charm and modern inspiration, and the common spaces are fun to explore. We stayed in a King Balcony room with our pup, and the separate entrance made coming and going so easy. The room was spacious, spotless, and clearly designed with travelers in mind, with thoughtful touches like dimmable lights, accessible outlets, and a generously sized bathroom and shower. You’re right in the heart of downtown Saratoga Springs, and the shared spaces were perfect for late-night hangs with the pup after my partner had gone to sleep. We’d absolutely stay again.
