Chaffee Lodge

We slept surprisingly well because the room was so quiet, and the beds were comfortable. It's a small, basic motel, but the room had DIRECTV, a microwave, fridge, sitting table, and dresser. The gentleman at the front desk was friendly and showed us to our room. There was a bit of a smell at the front entrance, and the bathroom fan brought some hallway odor into the room. With the fan off, it was fine.

Never staying there again. The room was filthy, with crumbs in the bed, a cigarette smell, and a rug so dirty I wouldn't let my 2-year-old sit on it. We were even told to take our baby out to the car if they cried. Horrible!

The room was quiet and peaceful, and the bed and towels were clean and soft. The shower was refreshing, with good pressure and very hot water. There was a microwave, fridge, and sitting table, plus a nice TV with DIRECTV. The front entrance smelled a little smoky, like people had been smoking outside, but there was no smell in the room. It's a cozy, unassuming motel, and the gentleman at the desk was friendly. I booked online and arrived later than planned, around 8:00 p.m. He said that was no problem, checked me in quickly, and showed me to my room within minutes. I'll definitely come back when I'm in town. Thx Jerry

We felt secure during our stay, and the owner gave us a warm welcome, but the weekend-night price felt high for the condition of the place. There was a persistent old-smoke odor even though the lodge is now non-smoking, and airing out the room didn't help. The mismatched furniture and spiders didn't make it more inviting either. Cleanliness was another issue: there were cobwebs and hairs in the bathroom corners, and the towels were in poor condition. It seemed to us the bathroom hadn't been cleaned for our stay. The bedsheets were worn and mismatched, with holes that showed the mattress, and they didn't smell fresh. We hope the owner makes a serious effort to address these problems and improve the lodge for future guests.
