The Hotel Saugatuck

The loud landscaping at 8 AM on our last morning was disappointing, especially for a stay costing $400+ a night. One worker was right outside our window blowing leaves, and it definitely took away from the relaxing feel. We also found the owners less welcoming and conversational than the married couple who owned it when we stayed for our honeymoon a year ago. Still, we had a nice anniversary stay. The room was clean, cozy, and comfortable, and the jacuzzi tub was a great way to unwind after exploring town. Breakfast was pretty good, though as others have said, it could be better for the price. The complimentary lobby cookies and drinks were a nice touch. We appreciated the cleaning lady refreshing our room and bringing extra condiments when we asked.

A cozy, clean room made for a lovely winter weekend. The breakfast and dessert were delicious, and staff spread salt around our vehicle so it was easy to get in and out.

We were very happy with the accommodations and staff on our anniversary getaway. The room and grounds were lovely, and breakfast arrived on time each morning. It was our first stay at Hotel Saugatuck, and we'll definitely return. I can see why it has so many great reviews, and we're looking forward to coming back.

The location is about a mile round trip on foot from downtown, so expect a walk. For $600 a night, it didn't feel worth the price, and we wouldn't return. We came for a getaway with my husband and found the stay just okay. The hotel is nice, but it wasn't luxurious as advertised, and we expected a better room and higher-end finishes. There were cobwebs on two lamps, dirty windows, cords hanging from the TV, and worn furniture. The front desk woman was pleasant, though she didn't do much to make us feel welcome after our four-hour drive. The included breakfasts weren't anything special, and the food lacked flavor across the board. The coffee tasted weak and watered down to us. We expected better coffee at a B&B.
