Plaza Motor Motel

We only stayed one night, but I’d happily come back to Plaza Motor when I’m in Sault Ste Marie. The room was cozy, clean, and smelled fresh. The bedding was soft and warm, the carpet was clean, and the bathroom was spotless. Even right by the main road, we couldn’t hear traffic. They also provide a white noise machine, which was great. There were plenty of thick, heavy, good-quality towels.

The staff made us feel like family and were so welcoming. Our room was well kept, clean, and comfortable, with hot showers, a microwave, fridge, and table and chairs along with the beds. We had an awesome stay and would definitely return.

It’s a cute, cozy hotel that fits my budget, and I’ll stay here again. The mini fridge was a nice size, and the towels were incredibly soft. My main complaints were the uncomfortable mattress and pillows and the dirty floor. The carpet can look clean at a glance, but our feet turned black, so keep your shoes or sandals on and bring your own pillow.

The owner was welcoming, and Rigley the dog was adorable, though we arrived while he was napping and he wasn’t too thrilled to see us, ha ha. The Greeting Travelers plaque on the wall really touched both of us. I booked without seeing the place first and felt a bit unsure, but it turned out just right. The flower gardens were beautiful, with lots of different flowers, and the room was clean and comfortable. Nothing felt skimped on. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the TV, lamps, bathroom fixtures, and furniture were all very nice. We’re from Florida, and if we’re lucky enough to visit the Upper Peninsula again, we’ll definitely stay here.
