We were caught off guard by a snowstorm during our stay, and the amount of snow and the conditions surprised us. If the forecast looks rough, bring food, supplies, and whatever you’d need in case you get stuck and can’t leave. The roads are steep and curvy, so make sure you arrive in an AWD vehicle. We had to use wood planks because there was no shovel or other tool to break up the ice and clear it to the side of the road, just so our car could get up that very steep road. We were trapped past checkout, but VACASA wouldn’t be flexible and still charged us a late checkout fee. Nancy, the local manager, was rude and unhelpful. The cabin itself is great in good weather. It had pretty decor that suited a cabin, and the furniture, bedding, and well-equipped kitchen were good. The living room furniture could use freshening up, and the hot tub needs maintenance because not all the jets work properly. Otherwise, everything was good.
