Quality Inn Savage - Bloomington West

I travel a lot for both work and vacations, and I’ll definitely stay here again. The staff were very friendly and focused on helping guests, and the whole place was kept really clean, including the lobby and pool. The rooms felt updated, with contemporary decor, big TVs, and very comfortable beds. The owner clearly takes a lot of pride in the property. It doesn’t feel like a budget hotel. Breakfast is basic, like at most Quality Inns, but everything was neat, clean, and kept warm. Quality Inn should use this hotel as its standard.

The location worked well for us, with shops and plenty of restaurants nearby, and the hotel is a good deal for the price. The woman who checked us in and out was especially friendly and polite. Our room was spacious, though the bathroom was not. There’s no elevator, so let the staff know when you check in if stairs are difficult for you. Traffic could be noisy, especially when a train passed, but it never woke us up.

I really appreciated that management put the safety of other guests first. I reported a man across the hall who seemed to be on drugs, left piles of soiled clothes in his doorway, and let his little dog climb over them and urinate on the hallway walls. He threatened me when I asked him to get his dog, and kept slamming his door all night. I felt afraid when my husband wasn’t with me. The desk acted on my report and had him leave the next day. He was also damaging the room. I think the hotel takes state-pay homeless guests, which is a good thing in such a brutal winter, so I’m glad they handled this situation. The hotel is dated, but the new owners and management are working hard to improve it. The rooms are okay and clean, with fresh linens. My husband and I used the indoor pool and hot tub while it was snowing, and the scenery was beautiful. Breakfast is hot and really good, with eggs and sausage added on weekends.

The room was very clean and welcoming, and the staff were friendly. It’s a good lower-cost option close to lots of great attractions, with really nice rooms. I’d definitely recommend it.
