Candlelight Inn & Suites Hwy 69 near McAlester

We wanted a short, affordable getaway and this place worked out really well. It was clean and quaint, the staff were helpful and friendly, and the sunrise over the water to the east was lovely. Great value.

We come here whenever work brings us to town. The rates are reasonable, they allow our dogs, and truck parking is a real plus. We usually book the same room so we can watch our truck and make loading and unloading easier. There's a spacious area behind the property with a nice view, and town is close when we need something. The staff are friendly, the rooms are kept clean, and they have a continental breakfast too.

For an older place, it's in nice shape and clean. We only stopped through briefly, and the staff did their job, though we had to use hand towels after our shower because there weren't bath towels in the room. We could have asked for some, and it wasn't a big deal. Just don't expect the Ritz and you'll be fine.

We stayed here while waiting to drop off our RV at the base. There's plenty of parking, including room for trailers and RVs, and the owners were friendly and helpful. Our room caused no problems: it was spacious, with a comfortable king bed, a 50-inch TV, sofa, table, chair, mini fridge, and microwave. The shower had good pressure and steady hot water. A quiet spot, too.
