Comfy Carriage House Steps from the River

My son rented a unit here for four nights over the July 4 weekend, during the hottest days ever recorded on Earth. The AC stopped working the first morning. Management promised twice to send someone, but when he returned that evening, it still wasn't fixed. They brought him a ridiculous tower fan instead. No one repaired the unit or offered to move him somewhere with working AC, leaving him in indoor temperatures with a heat index over 100. He slept on frozen water bottles to try to cool down. The negligence could have caused heat stroke or even death. They offered only a $200 refund, a quarter of what he paid for a supposedly air-conditioned unit, and repeatedly lied about fixing it to keep him and his money. Management admitted the owner hadn't even started looking for a repair company until July 4, so it could be fixed after the holiday and after my son left. This was reprehensible, extremely unprofessional, and a horrible experience that could have ended tragically. They seem to think people should pay for the pleasure of sweltering in an apartment with a 100-plus heat index. I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else.
