Hampton Inn & Suites Savannah Historic District

We could walk to anywhere we wanted to go in about 15 minutes, and our room was clean and spacious. This was our first trip to Savannah, and the hotel made a great base for it. The staff were amazing. Special thanks to Cem, who helped my boyfriend put together something for our anniversary and went above and beyond to make it special. I'd definitely stay here again!

I came from Dublin, Ireland, for a solo trip and spent eight amazing days celebrating my 40s. The room was quiet and clean, the breakfast was great, and the service made the hotel feel like home. The location was very good, and breakfast was good too. Our room was spacious, but the bathroom sink wouldn't drain properly and the toilet wouldn't flush. My husband is a plumber, so he fixed the toilet himself. The room wasn't cleaned every day, and after the first day the bins were full. We had to keep the rubbish in the room on day two. There were four of us, but not enough towels. Parking is $35 per night, and that wasn't visible when booking.

After my flight was delayed, I arrived around 1:30 a.m. I had called ahead and they said they'd be ready, though I had to knock loudly before they buzzed me in. I told the male receptionist I needed a quiet room because I was exhausted. I was put on the fourth floor, but the dog next door started barking while I unpacked, close to 2 a.m. I called down, and he had me come switch keys. The next room had traffic noise, but with the sound machine on I slept well. I slept in, then went down for breakfast at 9:50. The eggs and bacon were cold, so I asked to have them warmed. The woman did, but forgot about me for a bit before apologizing. The next morning at 9, the food was cold again and had to be reheated. After that I didn't eat there again. On the plus side, the front desk always called to let me know when my packages arrived, and checkout was easy. It was a nice stay with a few small snags.
