Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Schaumburg Woodfield

We had a good stay and would happily return. Breakfast was the highlight, especially the made-to-order omelettes, which used fresh ingredients and came just how we liked them. The breakfast staff really stood out too. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and welcoming, making each morning feel special. A great choice if you appreciate breakfast and outstanding hospitality.

The rooms were spacious, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. The atmosphere was great, and the hotel had a happy-hour-style event with good food at a reasonable price. Special thanks to the Customer Service Team at the counter, who went above and beyond to help me solve an issue that could have caused huge problems for the training event I was leading the next day. I truly appreciate Dillon and the other Team member, whose name I’m sorry I didn’t get and can’t locate right now. I highly recommend staying here when you’re in the area. Thanks!

Our first room smelled strongly of menthol and gas, enough to burn our throats. We complained and aired it out, but it was unbearable and nauseating, so we asked to move. The next room had the same strong chemical stench. Friends in other rooms didn’t have that smell, though another friend had a strong chlorine gas odor. Check-in was confusing too: we checked in digitally and requested physical keys when we arrived, then were told we weren’t checked in. On top of that, a replacement order of French fries took an hour after the original order got messed up. I can’t say I’ve ever had a worse experience.

Service was especially poor on New Year’s Eve. Staff seemed overwhelmed and disengaged, requests went unanswered or took far too long, and there was little hospitality on a night that should have been well staffed and treated as a priority. The hotel itself was run-down and poorly maintained, with dirty, worn common areas and outdated, tired rooms. For the price and the Embassy Suites name, this stay wasn’t acceptable. We won’t return or recommend this location, especially for a holiday stay.
