The building looks nice and is clean, and the woman who checked us in was very nice. But the room was freezing during a night when it was below zero with wind chills outside. You couldn't raise the heat at the thermostat. I called, and the 'manager' said he'd reset the system and to try again in a few minutes, but it didn't work. We were cold all night with one thin blanket, and they had no others. The pillows were flat and smelled like a stinky head. I asked for more and they had just ONE pillow available; that one smelled the same. The bathroom was so cold in the middle of the night, the toilet seat was ice cold, and at one point cold air blew from the heat/ac vent. The heat finally came on around 7 am, and we could fall asleep, but housekeeping woke us after 8 by laughing loudly in the hall outside our room. I raised it with the same 'manager' in the morning, and he said to stop at the desk so he could see what he could do. He wasn't there at checkout, and she said he'd call. He did, but was unhelpful and unpleasant. He said he'd checked cameras and housekeeping wasn't outside at 8:00 but at 8:30 am. I said it was 'around' 8:00, not exactly on the dot. We didn't make it to breakfast because the mattress was horrible too, and with the cold room we barely slept. Unacceptable, especially for a newer hotel in that weather.

The atmosphere felt cozy but still lively, and the little luxurious touches made it feel pampering without going overboard. The room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully designed. Staff were friendly and attentive from the moment I arrived, and every service and amenity felt carefully handled. It made the stay easy and memorable. I was truly impressed, one of my best stays, and I can't wait to come back with friends and family.

The interstate noise was the tradeoff for this place's location, and it seriously affected my sleep. I travel for work a lot, and this was unusually bad. I had to leave the TV on all night to drown it out. The room was clean, the breakfast was standard and acceptable, and it was fun to have a putting green and lawn chess. One other thing for anyone booking through a third party like my company does: there was an extra $3 a night charged to the card I used at check-in after checkout. Nobody explained it at check-in, though apparently it was included in the things agreed to then. If I'd known, I could have gotten a receipt while there and my company would have covered it. I noticed the charge on my personal card later. I called and accidentally reached the owner, who explained it was to recover grant funds used for construction upgrades like energy recovering ventilation. He was helpful and thorough. I suggested the desk tell people about the $3. Just a minor detail, but worth knowing.

We got into a room quickly even though we arrived a little before check-in time. The morning breakfast had more variety than the usual hotel spread, and I especially liked the miso soup.

Our first hotel overbooked us, and this place took us in at the last minute. Everyone we dealt with, from the desk to housekeeping, was kind, professional, and helpful, which made a stressful situation much easier. The rooms were enjoyable and the beds comfortable. There are nice outdoor features like a putting green and life size chess, and the free breakfast was good too.
