Courtyard Schenectady at Mohawk Harbor

The kids were happy hanging out downstairs with us, and Henry and Gill were great with them. One child asked for water, and Henry brought out a whole container of water and ice, which we really appreciated. Earlier, the kids had been running around upstairs and playing hockey in the hallway. Henry, the front desk manager, heard them, told them they couldn’t do that, and brought them back downstairs. We had no problem with that at all. It was our first stay at the courtyard by Marriott at Mohawk Harbor, booked for our kids’ hockey tournament. There were about 20 of us, and we’d taken the kids to the bunker to burn off some energy. But when the night staff came on, the water was taken away. We weren’t happy about that. Henry, if you see this, please teach the overnight girl some hospitality. She wasn’t nice at all.

After we’d left, I called to say I’d forgotten my AirPods, and the staff immediately checked the room, found them, and arranged to ship them that same day. That’s the kind of service that makes me want to return. Special thanks to Jason, the manager, who quickly helped get them back to me. The room was just what I expected, and impressively clean compared with some places I’ve stayed recently. Everyone was kind and helpful. I’d recommend this hotel for its location, access to the CanalWay Trail, and nearby restaurants and casino.

This Marriott feels like a hidden gem if you want a little time away. You can walk to Shaker and Vine, which is fantastic, and to the Casino. I highly recommend it.

We parked the car and didn’t need to drive again during our one-night stay at Mohawk Harbor. We walked to local places to eat, then sat outside by the fire afterward. Our room was big, with a large bathroom, and looked out toward the water, the street, and the building across from us. The pool was large and clean. The gym was small but worked well, and both spaces have big glass windows where you can watch the world go by. Staff were friendly, and the whole place felt comfortable and welcoming in a convenient, fun location.
