Quality Inn Scottsboro US/72 - Lake Guntersville Area

A dog barked all night in the room next to mine, and there was a kid screaming in the room on the other side. Sorry, but I had to smoke to get to sleep. They didn’t seem to care that I smoked reefers in my room, and they didn’t disturb me. It’s a three-star place, not five.

The rooms are updated, and the beds are comfortable. There’s a small, clean pool and a standard free breakfast. The motel is nicely maintained. I’d definitely stay again.

Angie was wonderful, and the hotel did make things right by not charging me, even though I was past the cancellation deadline. The stay itself was rough. I’ve used plenty of budget hotels and don’t expect luxury, but I do expect somewhere clean, safe, and functional. When we arrived around 5 p.m., guests in the lobby were cancelling because of the overpowering weed smell. Our room’s lock was jammed and hard to open, the AC didn’t work, and two guys were smoking downstairs right outside. Staff were friendly and tried to move us, but the second room smelled of weed too, and I felt nauseous within minutes. One bed also looked like its sheets had just been pulled up instead of changed. We left without unpacking and booked another hotel. I won’t stay here again.

The rooms are really clean and the beds are comfortable. Front desk service is exceptional. This is definitely my go-to hotel around here.
