Sunrise Extended Stay

I slept really well in a comfortable, fresh, clean room. The staff were friendly and efficient, and check-in was very helpful. Food and shopping are within walking distance, and the Wi-Fi was fast.

We booked this place because it advertised itself as pet friendly. For the night, it cost $75 for my boyfriend and me, plus $25 for our three-legged dog, along with a $100 damage deposit that was supposed to be refunded. He'd just had a back medical procedure, and we still had an hour's drive home, so I didn't want him waiting in the car any longer than necessary. Our dog is white and the carpet was dark red. We cleaned up before leaving, but she'd shed quite a bit. There was no damage, just the usual cleaning after a stay. The man checking the room told me I had to buy a broom or vacuum and clean it myself, or pay another $20 or $40 for cleaning. I agreed to let him keep $20 from the deposit so we could leave. The microwave didn't work, and there weren't any vending machines, which was inconvenient but not my main complaint. This was easily one of the three worst places I've stayed.

Sunrise Extended Stay was affordable and ended up exceeding what I expected. The room was spotless, the bed very comfortable, and the staff made us feel welcome. It was also well placed for getting to local attractions. I'd gladly return.

I booked two nights hoping to spend time lounging in the pool, which was still advertised on the website. I'd stayed here before mainly because of the pool, so finding it covered after I'd checked in and paid was heartbreaking. The clerk said the owner had decided not to open it this year. With the pool closed, there was also no working ice machine or vending machine, nothing. I did get two loads of laundry done. At checkout, the owner said the floor was too dirty from lint and kept $10 of my security deposit. This was the worst motel experience I've had, and I won't come back or recommend it.
