The guys at the front desk were nice, and the pool and pool area were clean enough. That was about all I liked. The parking lot was ridiculously tight, and though our room was ready early, the whole hotel was extremely old and outdated and needs repairs and remodeling. As a former housekeeper, I checked the room for bedbug signs and other issues and didn’t see anything. I thought a $7 bottle of bleach bought at 9 p.m. would be enough to clean out the smell, but we could barely manage one night of a two day booking. My partner and children wanted to leave the next morning. The hotel was full, and the guests looked like they were from outer space. A very heavyset woman near the office screamed disgusting things at people and claimed she worked there. When we returned our keys, she yelled our names and demanded to know why we were checking out early. I don’t understand why the state health department isn’t in the building. Getting a refund was a struggle too. Disgusting is the word. No stars, this place is bad.

There was a big fight involving a staff member and guests or residents, and several police officers and an ambulance showed up. My 13 year old even had to give the police a witness statement around midnight on a Sunday. Some might find that entertaining, but I would have preferred my child not to be involved. The room wasn’t as bad as I expected from the exterior and filthy lobby, though I found mouse droppings in the bathroom. The elevator and stairway smelled quite bad. If you enjoy Jerry Springer style trash and brawls, this may be your place.

Being within walking distance of the boardwalk was the only upside. Our room was filthy when we arrived, and we had to ask for it to be cleaned. A musty, moldy odor hung around through checkout, and there were roaches. The door wouldn’t lock properly and looked as if it had been broken into before, so we pushed a table in front of it at night to feel safe. The parking lot was tiny too, with barely enough room for our SUV; even a Prius would have been squeezed. The worst part was what happened when we asked housekeeping to clean while we went out. We said clearly that we would be back and asked twice for the door to be locked. Instead, they went through our drawers and shoved our belongings, including important medication my mom needed, into a pillowcase. Some things were returned, others were missing, and we had to call the police and file a report. At checkout we left the key and asked who owned the place. The man working there was rude and kept saying it was “family owned” without answering. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Please take these reviews seriously. The beach is close, but this place wasn’t worth the money. I checked the room as soon as we arrived and found it dirty, with bedbug droppings and a clearly dirty bed. There was a used condom underneath it. I have photos and videos. They moved my husband, our two children, and me to another room, but its ceiling was falling apart, the curtains had been cut to different sizes, and the shower curtain was dirty. We didn’t even stay 16 hours before driving back to Pennsylvania. The parking setup was chaotic: cars were blocked in, and staff called and banged on room doors to get people to move. Through Priceline I tried to get a refund. A used condom is unacceptable, especially with the possibility of disease transmission around my children. Our two night total was $462, and they refunded only $60. That didn’t feel like customer advocacy. I’m not bitter, just being honest: don’t waste your money, look elsewhere.

Room 312 smelled bad and was dirty, with a disgusting bathroom and uncomfortable beds that left my back hurting. On the second night, the ceiling started leaking onto my face while I was asleep. The location was the one good thing. Thanks to the two hardworking Spanish guys who tried to fix the ceiling at midnight. It might be okay for high school students, but I don’t think it suits adults.
