Hampton Inn Seattle-Airport

We booked this as a stopover after a tiring trip and bad jet lag. The breakfast was refreshing and nourishing, and it helped us get our strength back. The hotel was being renovated, but that was okay. Our room was modern and very clean. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

The front desk staff were efficient and friendly, which was really the only good part of the stay. I don’t recommend this hotel. Renovations were extensive. Every first-floor room was torn up, paint chips were scattered along the hallway, and debris covered much of the parking lot, leaving no available spaces. The breakfast area was mostly out of use, with only two small tables and limited food. The far first-floor exit was open to the outside every time I passed, even at 8 p.m., so someone could reach the elevators without being seen by the front desk. That seemed like a security risk. We returned our rental car and planned to take the shuttle in the morning, but the airport ride was disappointing. Although the hotel is close, the shuttle also collects passengers at La Quinta, and awkward traffic lights add time. It took 15 minutes to reach the airport garage. From there, you need to take an elevator up to the skyway, walk across to the terminal, then take another elevator to departures and find your airline’s bag drop. Allow 25-30 minutes from the hotel to the bag drop. My fourth-floor room was also disappointing. Usually there’s a small hallway between the entrance and bedroom, with the bathroom door opening onto it. Here the bathroom door was beside the bed. It was a sliding door that didn’t lock, and there was a gap, so it didn’t feel private.

The rooms smelled sour, like laundry that hadn’t dried properly. There were smears on the counters and microwave, and no bathroom fans. Years of damp seemed to have seeped into the carpets and drapes. Terrible. There are plenty of other options nearby, so do your research. I’d been traveling all day and was too tired to change hotels. One star. Elsa was friendly.

After our delayed flight caused us to miss a connection, we arrived at 2 a.m. Victor checked us in and was amazing, friendly, and accommodating. He even got us fresh hot water for tea, which meant the world after that travel mess. Thank you, Victor. It was just what we needed.
