La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Seattle Sea-Tac Airport

The airport shuttle was only a 12-minute drive, and there’s a bus stop right outside. Denny's, Jack n the Box, and Taco Bell are all visible from the front of the building. The staff were very kind, courteous, and accommodating. My room was lovely, with plenty of space to set out a suitcase, a great bathroom, and a comfortable mattress. They also accepted my Amazon deliveries the day before I arrived and took good care of them. For this price, it may be the best overnight stay I’ve had.

The shower was the main reason I’m leaving this review. We had an early flight, used the gym, and wanted to shower before a long day of travel. The shower was broken, so we had to wash using the tub faucet and ice bucket. Trying to switch it to shower mode only made water dribble from the shower head. That was miserable when we were short on time. Don’t stay in room 428 unless you’ve confirmed it’s been fixed. I later saw a review from five months earlier saying the fourth-floor showers weren’t working then, and that guests had been told about it. Why were we assigned a room on that floor without being warned, especially with an early flight? I docked a point for service because that felt deceptive and inconsiderate. When I mentioned the issue at checkout and asked the front desk woman not to assign that room until it was fixed, she scribbled something down and acted surprised. If the showers had been out for months, that was a very unprofessional, disingenuous response. The hallway also smelled strongly of paint, and the bedroom had a stale odor that never went away. Hopefully that improves once renovations are done. I don’t usually leave bad reviews unless I think a warning would help, but the shower problem was too big to ignore.

We felt unsafe and frustrated by all the communication problems and mistakes, and I wouldn’t stay here again. Before checkout, we noticed an unexpected charge on our card. Our online reservation had also been changed and partly canceled, which was confusing. At checkout, we were told the first night had been “taken care of,” but nobody had clearly explained that to us beforehand. The first night of our girls’ trip to Seattle, someone came into our room around midnight while we were asleep because of a room mix-up. The next morning, housekeeping also tried to enter, not knowing the room was occupied. We later learned our room had been switched during the night without telling us. Florinda was kind and helpful, and said the GM would contact us. It’s been a couple of days and we still haven’t heard anything. We chose La Quinta because of its great reviews, so this experience was a real disappointment.

They’re renovating the hotel right now, but the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast is free, and there’s also coffee, tea, and a water dispenser. Jack in the Box, Denny's, and Taco Bell are nearby. My room was a good size for three people and had enough lighting. The hotel is conveniently close to Sea-Tac airport, with a shuttle to the airport and local mass transit. The entrance on 28th avenue is wheelchair accessible.
