I showed up on time for my apartment tour and was told I'd missed it, even though the leasing team had confirmed by email that my Saturday appointment was moved to Sunday. I had to show Tracy the whole exchange to prove it. She was dismissive and confrontational, then blamed her coworker and didn't apologize for the mix-up. The options she offered were to come back Monday, after I'd already wasted time getting there because of their scheduling mistake, or return two hours after the confirmed appointment because she had another appointment at 2:15 and for the following hour. There was no way to fit me in around her schedule, even though the error was on their end. I canceled the tour soon after. The interaction left a bad taste, and I'd been considering signing a lease that day if I liked the apartment. There are apartments nearby with better customer service, and I'll be looking at those instead.

The people who keep Chroma running have been great. Tracey and Ingrid at the front desk are friendly and helpful, and their smiles are contagious. Maintenance is quick, professional, and reliable too. I also like the clean dog run for quick stops when I'm in a rush. Once in a while, a less considerate neighbor leaves a mess, but most residents seem to take good care of the place. The building itself is always clean and well looked after. Package delivery feels secure and is easy, the lobby coffee machine is a nice extra, and the gym is excellent and stays clean, though we tenants could do better at putting things back. The location is amazing for walking, with parks, restaurants, and coffee shops nearby. I run often and feel safe enough on my usual loops around Lake Union or toward the Space Needle. I've really enjoyed living at Chroma. Two thumbs up from me!

I had a pleasant stay here. Tatianna and Kizzy were amazing throughout, and the staff were courteous and proactive whenever something came up. I'd recommend this place to anyone moving to SLU.

There was recently an attempted theft from my car in the parking area. Residents pay $350 a month to park, yet there's no security, which is especially frustrating. The security cameras have been out of service for over a year. I've emailed management, but they haven't responded or taken action. Meanwhile, management has spent time and money remodeling apartments to look nicer while leaving this basic safety issue unaddressed. Charging premium rates for parking without working cameras or other security measures is ridiculous. It's frustrating to see the priorities: making apartments look good for tours instead of protecting residents and their belongings. Until management takes security seriously and communicates with residents, this place isn't worth the cost or stress.

I pay $225 a month to park, yet when cars are broken into, management tells residents to file insurance claims. There’s no real protection, and the camera in the common room doesn’t even record. The security cameras have been down for over a year, with management saying only that they’re “working on it.” Even a few basic $100 cameras would help if they actually cared. I’d look elsewhere for somewhere safer to live.
